Barley Grass is a wonderful way to ensure you're getting enough dark leafy greens in your diet.

The barley grass is harvested just prior to jointing, which research has shown to be the period when nutrient levels are at their peak. The grass is harvested using a direct cutting method so that the leaves never touch the ground, and is then moved quickly (within an hour) to the dehydrator. A low temperature dehydrator is used, specially designed to keep nutrient levels at their maximum. The grass dries for 2-3 seconds ensuring that the cell temperature stays below 107° F retaining the maximum levels of heat sensitive nutrients. The grass is then formed into pellets (decreasing the surface area exposed to oxidation which causes nutrient loss), placed in nitrogen filled pharmaceutical grade sacks, and placed in cold storage where the product is frozen. The product is only removed from cold storage when needed for packaging, and then cryogenically ground to order.
